What color is the dress?
I’ve started to see this problem with a lot of people on Twitter and I thought I’d address it.
So many people want to make money online.
They want to quit their job and find something that’s sustainable.
Relatable?
If yes, keep reading…
I think we’ve all been at this point when time or another in our lives. The point where we’re extremely motivated to start our new business.
At some point, you finally get the perfect idea.
One weekend you get out of bed. Today is a special day.
In the back of your head, you’ve set aside time to start your new digital marketing agency.
(And think it can make you a ton of money)
This excites you. Everything is new… fun… and exciting.
4 weeks pass. You’ve made monumental massive progress with your business.
You’ve designed the perfect logo, implemented a new website design, and started to advertise your services on social media.
The entrepreneurial dream is finally coming true!
4 weeks of hard work go by and you finally land a few clients to get a stable income!
You think to yourself…
“Finally I can relax”
After a day's work is finished, a friend calls you about a new business opportunity.
He explains this brand-new idea.
You can triple your income if you give just 10 hours of your time each week!
It’s fantastic!
Who doesn’t want some extra cash on the side?
And this is where people mess up…
I’m gonna tell a quick story from The Matrix that explains this form of distraction very well.
This is the woman in the red dress (from the movie):

In this scene, Morpheus takes Neo into a training simulation within the Matrix to teach him a lesson (Matrix = A computed-generated world to deceive humans of their existence).
As they (Neo and Morpheus) walk through the city, they’re surrounded by civilians wearing all black.
But then a lady wearing a red dress appears…
Neo turns his head to watch the beautiful lady walk right past him.
That’s when Morpheus goes “Are you listening to me, or are you looking at the woman in the red dress… look again”
Neo turns around and the woman has now transformed into an agent who’s holding a gun against his head.
It was a trick on Neo to show him the danger of being in the Matrix.
Back to your business idea…
The woman in the red dress is the second business opportunity that you're thinking about pursing…
Now I want you to think of your current business as a bucket–
That’s filled to the top with water.
You’ve put all your hard work into the bucket… and finally… it’s filled to the brim.
Because it was the first time you’ve had to fill the bucket, the process was fun… exciting… and new.
And then, Your new opportunity came along…
It looks fun… exciting… and new.
You have 2 options:
Let your current bucket evaporate while your try to fill a new one
Keep pouring water into the same bucket so it remains full
Option 2 is a lot harder (But will make you more money)
The decision is up to you…
Deuces,
Tyler
