Opportunity is knocking

I used to be scared of taking risks. Flying downhill to tackle the opposing teams running back in football, selling door-door sales down in Houston Texas, failing on 1,000s of outreach messages for my ghostwriting business. I know there is always going to be uncertainty. A looming fear that I won’t be good enough.

In the summer of 2021, I was lost.

I remember waking up at 6, working in the heat of Illinois summer on a golf course, running back home to shower, and immediately driving over to my other job at a country club to finish out the night.

Night after night, this was life because I worked nearly 55 hour weeks to try and save up money.

When that summer was over, I remember distinctly driving back to my college town for fall, broken.

Because I was at ground zero.

zero interests.

zero direction.

zero connections.

zero idea of where I was going to end up.

I was burnt out, lost in my career path, hating school, and looking for something new to learn.

I grew up in the era of You tube, Vine, and Madden Ultimate team. It helped realized that any solution to a problem I was facing was on the internet. I could look up solutions, cheat sheets, and tips to the games I was playing on Xbox.

Once I heard about online businesses from a Dan Koe podcast and how anyone can make 5 figures online with skills like offer creation, copywriting, direct response, email marketing, and sales, I knew I could figure out how to make money, but just had no idea how to play this “game”.

Most of us are conditioned to take the path of the 9-5, be safe with money, and never really ask how ourselves “How dominate can I really be?”.

Through mentors, courses, seminars, or courses, paying for information is kind of like buying the flash pass at Disney world. It is a must.

Instead of wasting time sitting in lines, you get to jump in front of everyone and ride the rollercoaster right away.

The step for me was finding Dakota Robertson and investing $5,000 into an online ghostwriting course (so I could skip the beginning struggles and learn specific knowledge quicker).

Even when I had only about $5,500 in my bank account I knew how important is was to get in with a group of elite and experienced experts who were leading the industry.

It wasn’t until I had a coaching call with a copywriter who has sold over $40 million worth of products online that I learned about the simple mistakes I was making over and over…
