How to unf*ck your life (in less than 7 weeks):
For those of you who haven’t seen an email in your inbox, it’s because I’ve been on several side missions since sending my last newsletter.
I recently moved to Austin Texas for 2 months to officially begin my entrepreneurship journey.
I keep telling myself.
This. Isn’t. Real.
But the truth is that I’ve been working my a** off the past 8 months to put myself in a situation where I can control my income, work wherever I want, and pursue my life’s purpose.
I will tell you this…
…it didn’t start this way.
6 weeks ago I was locked in my childhood room wondering where I’d be applying for internships for the summer.
At this stage, the normal path was in my deck of cards.
I had adopted the mentality that everything in my life was going to fall into place. I thought I’d work for a large employer, settle down, and just get by.
I was a college senior at Iowa State University.
I would wake up, cheat on pretty much every school assignment, walk around like a gym bro, and pretty much just get by.
Sometimes I think we can fall into this trap of mediocrity, not knowing what we are truly capable of.
And as of December, I had given up on myself.
So the question is…
What decisions change the trajectory of your life?
One Saturday morning my friend Jack (@jackmoses0 on X) called me up on an early Saturday morning.
If you don’t know Jack, he’s a creator on X who has been dominating the podcast, content, and newsletter social media game. He also runs cohorts to help creatives unlock their curiosity and create online businesses around their passions.
He’s also been my best friend for nearly 15 years.
Anyway, he gave me his best sales pitch to get me down to Austin Texas to help with his launch for his upcoming cohort: “The Sovereign Creator” (Check it out here: https://sovereigncreator.school/)
Why you’re 1 fuck it decision away from becoming indispensable
Well as you can tell, I decided to move to Austin with 1,000 dollars in my bank account.
I arrived and was pretty much shocked at how far gone I had let myself go.
This was when I realized that I had fallen into terrible habits.
I selfishly compared myself to Jack in every aspect of my life— but for good reason.
Let me explain why…
When you adopt the mentality that you are just going to “get by” like I was while at college, you never take time to analyze any of your thought patterns or beliefs.
So by comparing myself to how Jack operated during his day, I was able to slowly find myself.
The environment change was the one thing I needed to bring the negative thought patterns and habits to the surface so I could make the changes necessary
I’m nowhere near perfect. But I have made a ton of progress fast.

Clean eating
The first thing I did was clean up my eating, with a heavy emphasis on eating clean protein.
No bread. Limited sugar.
I’ve been sticking to clean protein, veggies, and lots of fruits.
Here are some of my favorites:
Ground Elk
Venison
Dates
Mushrooms
Eggs
Spinach
Blueberries
When you fuel your body with the proper nutrients, it functions like it’s supposed to.
But this is not an overnight fix.
Give yourself 1-2 weeks before you start seeing your energy levels return to normal.
Morning exercise
Start the day off with forward movement.
Any kind of exercise is better than none.
I take it a step further:
2 sets of push-ups till failure
2 Sets of jump squats until failure
Follow it with “The breath of fire” (Kudos to Based Brah for teaching me this technique)
60 quick breaths in and out through your nose to start your day with increased energy and enhanced intuition.
Sleep
Before anything, prioritize your sleep.
For me, I feel best when I’m getting 9-10 hours of deep quality rest.
I’ve been following this sleep routine to make sure I go to bed around 8:30 each night:
Blue light blockers at sunset
Limit technology and screens
Avoiding caffeine and nicotine after 5pm
Read or listen to a book 20 minutes before bed
Sleep can be the hardest part of your routine to dial in.
I recommend tracking when you go to bed and wake up each day to see how well you function with 7,8, or 9 hours of sleep.
Everyone’s body is different.
But once you dial in your sleep, you’ll wake up recharged and ready to attack the day.
Environment
“You a combination of your 5 people you hang out with the most”
Cultivate an environment or network of peers to raise your mental state and quality of life.
One of my favorite concepts from the book Power vs Force is called the critical point.
The critical point refers to a small shift in our environment that can have a massive impact on the outcome of your mind, luck, and success.
If you’re around creative thinkers, your thinking will be expanded.
If you’re around positive and uplifting people, your mood will be enhanced.
If you’re around entrepreneurs, your more likely to become open to the idea of starting a business.
Cultivate an environment of people entrepreneurs who have similar goals as you to help rewire your brain and chase your goals.
Daily levers
What you work on is more important than how hard you work.
Prioritize leverage over anything:
Building a podcast
Writing 30 minutes of a newsletter each day
Creating a course from your specific knowledge
Network 30 minutes a day
Over time, what you once thought was difficult will come as second nature.
Deep rest
Your brain has 2 modes: task completion and Rest
But you can’t be in the mode where your constantly completing tasks all day, so you need to turn off this part of the brain to tell the “Default Mode Network” kick in.
This is where the subconscious takes time to explore thought, and creativity, and make connections to the new knowledge it’s just been exposed to.
Some easy ways to let the default mode network kick in are:
20-minute nap
Reading
Journaling
Taking a walk
Meditation
Once your “work” for the day is over, let the default mode network kick in so your mind has time to wonder.
Find 3 mentors
Consume content from 2-3 mentors in-depth and ignore everything else—
Right now I’m deep into Jordan Peterson, Robert Greene, and David Hawkins.
Ideally you want to choose 3 different mentors and take a deep dive down their books, podcasts, lectures and courses.
Jordan Peterson → Psychology, personality, and goal setting
Robert Greene → Laws of human nature, success, and social skills
David Hawkins → Spirituality, killing the ego, raising your level of consciousness
Your chosen mentors don’t have to be practical to business.
They can serve as the foundational blocks to learning about your inner psychology, cultivate awareness, and transcend,
Turn work into play
When work feels like play it isn’t work.
Instead of slaving away at your to- do list, make it fun:
Listen to classical, Edm, or techno music
Pop a Zin or coffee to enter peak flow state
Ask yourself “what would this look like if it were easy?”
After looking back on these past 2 months in Austin, I’m a completely different person.
If you were to tell me before moving to Austin that after this trip I would have:
The freedom to live wherever I want
Have the confidence to bring in $10k for a creator cohort
Wake up every day and become closer to living in my purpose
Now that I’ve done it I can say that anyone can change their life by starting 1 or 2 of the habits that I listed above.
That’s all I’ve got for this one. I hope you enjoyed the read.
To your super success;
